Texas electrician CE, explained in 90 seconds

Alright. If you are a Texas electrician, you have got four hours of CE to do this year. Every year. Before the state will let you renew.

Nobody wants to do it. So let me show you the fastest way through it.

Go to RenewEdCE.com and pick the electrician course. You do not need to pay to start, you can just pay after you finish.

Now, it is four hours. That is required by TDLR. But it is four hours on your couch, not four hours in a classroom on a Saturday.

There is no test. None. You read through it, there are a few review questions along the way, and they are not graded. You cannot fail this.

Your spot saves after every slide. So if you get through half of it tonight and finish it in the truck tomorrow morning, that is fine.

When you are done, you pay. Not before. Then you download your certificate right there, and hang onto it for a year.

Also, you do not have to file anything with TDLR. We do that for you. Usually the same or next day.

Then you go to tdlr.texas.gov, pay their renewal fee, and you are done for another year.

Oh, and one more thing. It is the same four hours whether you are a master, a journeyman, a residential wireman, maintenance, sign, lineman, or an apprentice. And if you hold more than one license, one course covers all of them.

That is it. Four hours, one evening, or get it done on your lunch break. There is no test, and we handle all the state paperwork.
