Frequently asked questions

The essentials about RenewEd CE and how online TDLR continuing education works.

Who is RenewEd CE?

RenewEd CE is a Texas company that builds self-paced, online continuing education courses for Texas professional license renewals. Each trade has its own course site — ElectricianRenewal.com, TowingRenewal.com, HVACRenewal.com, CosmetologistRenewal.com, WaterWellRenewal.com, PropertyTaxRenewal.com, and AuctioneerRenewal.com — all operated by RenewEd CE under a single TDLR CE provider registration (#2553).

Are RenewEd CE courses approved by TDLR?

The Texas 4-hour electrician course is TDLR-approved (CE Provider #2553, Course #32988) and live now. RenewEd CE's other courses — tow operator, A/C & refrigeration, cosmetology & barber, water well driller, property tax consultant, and auctioneer — are built and pending TDLR course approval under the same provider (#2553); each goes live as soon as it's approved.

How do the online courses work?

Each course is 100% online and self-paced. You enroll, work through timed modules on any device, and pay a single one-time fee — you can finish first and pay after. Your certificate is available immediately and your completion is reported to TDLR, typically within 7 days.

Does completing a course renew my license?

Completing the continuing education satisfies the CE requirement for renewal. The license renewal itself is done through TDLR at tdlr.texas.gov, where a separate state fee applies. We report your CE completion to TDLR so your renewal isn't held up.

How much do RenewEd CE courses cost?

The Texas electrician course is a one-time $24.99 founding-member price (regularly $29.99). You pay once per course — no subscriptions — and you can finish first and pay after. RenewEd CE's other courses will publish their prices when they launch after TDLR approval.

What Texas trades does RenewEd CE cover?

Electricians (live now), plus tow operators, air conditioning & refrigeration contractors, cosmetologists & barbers, water well drillers & pump installers, property tax consultants, and auctioneers — all built and pending TDLR approval. Additional Texas TDLR occupations are in development.

Is RenewEd CE a legitimate company?

Yes. RenewEd CE is a registered Texas limited liability company and a registered TDLR continuing education provider (#2553), whose electrician continuing education course is TDLR-approved (Course #32988).
