Do I have to finish the course in one sitting?
No. Your progress saves automatically after every slide. Log in from any device and you'll be exactly where you left off.
Is there a test?
No. Texas TDLR does not require an exam for tow operator continuing education. Complete all the course material and you're done. Each section ends with a short required timed review. You must page through it, but there is no pass/fail test.
Why can't I click Next right away?
Texas CE hours are measured in instruction time (one CE hour = 50 minutes). Each slide has a minimum read time so the course genuinely delivers the 4 hours TDLR requires. That's what makes your certificate valid.
What topics does the course cover?
The 4 hours follow the breakdown TDLR requires for tow operators (16 TAC 86.250): 1 hour of roadway safety, 1 hour of Texas towing law and rules (Occupations Code Ch. 2308 / 16 TAC Ch. 86), and 2 hours of industry topics, towing techniques and equipment safety, and nonconsent towing, fees, VSF handoff, and customer documentation.
When is my completion reported to TDLR?
We report completions to TDLR promptly. The state deadline is 7 days, and we beat it. After it posts you can renew at tdlr.texas.gov (TDLR charges its own renewal fee).
What does the course cost?

What do I do after I finish?
Download your certificate from your dashboard and keep it for your records. Then renew your license on the TDLR website. The CE requirement will show as satisfied once our report posts.
Which licenses does this course cover?
Private Property (nonconsent) tow operators, Consent tow operators, and Incident Management (IM) operators on subsequent renewals. Note: first-time IM renewals require an 8-hour in-person professional development course instead, confirm your requirement with TDLR. If you hold more than one operator license type, one 4-hour course covers your CE.
