Do I have to finish the course in one sitting?
No. Your progress saves automatically after every slide. Log in from any device and you'll be exactly where you left off.
Is there a test?
No. TDLR's current barbering and cosmetology CE materials don't require a final exam. Complete all the course material and you're done. Each section ends with a short, ungraded review to help the material stick, and between sections you answer one of your own security questions. That is an identity check required for online CE, not a knowledge test.
Why can't I click Next right away?
Texas CE hours are measured in instruction time (one CE hour = 50 minutes, 16 TAC §59.30). Each slide has a minimum read time so the course delivers the full 200 minutes of instruction that TDLR credits as 4 hours. Your certificate counts because this course is TDLR-approved (Course #33234) and we are a registered TDLR CE provider (#2553).
When is my completion reported to TDLR?
Once you have finished the course and paid, we report your completion to TDLR within 7 days, the deadline set by 16 TAC §59.51(e), and usually much sooner. After it posts you can renew at tdlr.texas.gov (TDLR charges its own renewal fee). Keep your certificate of completion for at least two years.
What does the course cost?
The standard price is $22.99, one time, everything included. Our first 100 customers pay the founding price of $16.99. That discount is applied automatically at checkout while spots remain. And once you've taken the course with us, every future renewal is $14.99, locked in for life. TDLR gives no credit for taking the same approved course twice (16 TAC §83.25(e)), so we file an updated course for each renewal cycle and your loyalty price applies to that course. Barbershops and salons with several licensed practitioners: email support for group pricing.
How does the lowest price guarantee work?
Find a TDLR-approved 4-hour barbering or cosmetology CE course advertised for less than our price and we'll beat that price by 20%. Email the link or a photo of the ad to support before you pay and we'll send you a personal discount code. The competing course must be TDLR-approved for the same renewal requirement and publicly advertised, we need it before you pay, and we adjust once per enrollment.
How does pay-later work?
Enroll and take the entire course before you pay anything. Pay the one-time fee whenever you like: $16.99 founding price for our first 100 customers, $22.99 standard after that. Your certificate is issued and your completion is reported to TDLR once you have both finished the course and paid.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, on request within 30 days of payment, as long as your certificate has not been issued. If you finish the course first and then pay, the certificate is issued immediately and your completion is reported to TDLR, so the fee is not refundable at that point because the service has been delivered. Email support and we'll sort it out.
What do I do after I finish?
Download your certificate from your dashboard and keep it at least two years. Then renew your license on the TDLR website. The CE requirement will show as satisfied once our report posts.
Which licenses does this course cover?
Class A Barber, Cosmetology Operator, Esthetician, Manicurist, Manicurist/Esthetician, Hair Weaving Specialist, Hair Weaving Specialist/Esthetician, and Eyelash Extension Specialist (Occupations Code §1603.2103; legacy barbering specialty licenses continue until they expire or are replaced, 16 TAC §83.2(b)). Texas requires 4 hours every two years for most barbering and cosmetology licensees (1 hour sanitation, 1 hour human trafficking awareness, 2 hours related practice).
I've held my license 15+ years, do I still need all 4 hours?
A licensee who has held the relevant Texas license for at least 15 years may qualify for a reduced 2-hour path (sanitation and human trafficking awareness only). This course is the full 4-hour course; we don't yet offer a separate 2-hour course. Confirm your specific requirement with TDLR before enrolling.
